Welcome to our beginning...<\/h3>

It was a sunny March day… we were 16 years old… and Noel was under 5 ft tall. I don’t think he noticed me. And I sure as hell didn’t notice him. We had no idea we had just met the ones we were gonna spend the rest our lives with. We were volunteering at our church youth group. I don’t remember our first conversation but I’m pretty sure he was chasing Quentin who was 3 years old at the time. Noel had apologized to me for Quentin jumping on my leg. Not the greatest “meet cute” I know lol.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A year later… another sunny March day… we were 17 years old. Woah, Noel grew overnight and appeared almost 6 ft tall. I definitely noticed him this time. After some time, we became friends (on FaceBook) and eventually MSN Messenger buddies staying up all night talking. Fast forward to July 21, 2008 and he officially became my boyfriend! We were at a Chinese restaurant (Winter Garden to be exact). Nothing cheesy here, we were actually super awkward towards each other. We could never hold a serious conversation and everything was a joke (I guess similar to our life now lol).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Over the past 12 years we have done a lot of travelling… mostly with Noel’s family. I can’t believe I survived a road trip all the way to New York city. We don’t have many things in common but we grew to love each other’s interests. I started to enjoy the outdoors for him (ha) and he started to… party with me and my crazy friends (who now love him more than I do). He keeps me company and plays boardgames with me and I support him and will always be his #1 basketball fan. We’ve had some ups and downs and struggles here and there. Our relationship is A LOT of work (we bicker like really miserable old married couples) and I’m surprised we’ve even made it this far… I for sure thought quarantine was gonna take us out. All jokes aside, we make each other laugh and have a lot of fun. All the hard work makes it so much more worthwhile. <\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve struggled\u00a0a lot with my anxiety (more than I’ve even realized\u00a0until now) and Noel is\u00a0always there for me. I’ll always appreciate him for it. Here is my little mental health plug- please please always show up for yourself, even if it means asking others to show up for you. You just have to be brave enough to ask \ud83d\ude42 I’ve attached some links below to some sites that hold near and dear to our hearts… for us, and to honour some of our loved ones.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
